Okonkwo hoping for some Pac 12 love

One of the top corners out west this year is Fontana (Calif.) Summit standout Charles Okonkwo. The athlete recently set up his first official visit and is hoping for some Pac 12 love.

Charles Okonkwo had a breakout summer on the 7 on 7 circuit and really emerged as an elite BCS prospect. He's a long, lean corner who runs well and plays physical. He has very good ball skills and is having a strong senior season.

"Our team is 7-1 and we're ranked No. 1 in our CIF division," Okonkwo said. "Our only loss was to Redlands, they have Craig Lee, who's a real good running back. I have three interceptions and a couple of defensive touchdowns so I've been doing pretty good as well."

On the recruiting front, Okonkwo is beginning to set up his visits.

"I have a trip set with Nevada for (Dec. 7)," Okonkwo said. "I'm planning to set an official visit to Boise State as well but they want me to wait until after the season. I'm really feeling Boise State a lot and they're probably my top school but I would love to stay in the Pac 12 as well.

"Stanford, Oregon State and Washington are all talking to me," Okonkwo said. "Stanford and Oregon State have been talking to me since the summer. Stanford said they want me to take some AP classes and Oregon State said they want to see me in person. If either of those schools were to offer me, I would commit on the spot."
