Okoronwo Says OSU His Only Visit

Ogbonnia Okoronwo said his main objective is to help get his Alief Taylor High School Lions team on track for the playoffs. Okoronkwo returned our call Tuesday evening and told us he missed practice today with flu-type symptoms. He is hoping to get back to school and practice Wednesday to prepare for Saturday's game against Aldine.

Last week the Lions lost to Eisenhower 22-17 to fall to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in district play.

"What I want to do right now is help get my team back on track," said the 6-3, 220-pound defensive end. "We need to get a win on Saturday with Aldine. I nned to get back to practice."

Okoronwo said he did make a visit a couple of weeks ago to Dallas to see the OU-Texas game.

"I went with Terrodney (Prevot, linebacker committed to USC) and Chris (Hardeman, cornerback who is a junior prospect)," Okoronkwo explained.

"It was cool, but nothing is up. I haven't set up any visits yet, but the only school I'm visiting is Oklahoma State," he said.

Okoronwo committed to Oklahoma State this summer saying he wanted to get that out of the way before his senior season.
