Getting to Know Panfil

With ten offers, and a big senior season behind him -- Lincoln Way Central defensive end Evan Panfil talks about what's next.

2013 defensive end Evan Panfil of Lincoln-Way Central in New Lenox, Ill., has ten offers, and is in the hunt for more.

"I have ten offers from North Dakota, Illinois State, Toledo, New Mexico, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Ball State, Wyoming, Colorado State and Miami of Ohio," Panfil said. "I have been hearing from Colorado State, Ball State, Bowling Green, and Illinois the most."

Panfil has emerged and developed on the field since seeing the varsity field as a sophomore.

"I started on varsity as a sophomore and I have been trying to excel ever since," Panfil said. "When I was younger I actually played mostly offensive line."

And since Panfil has spent plenty of time on both sides of the ball, he knows exactly what he loves about the game.

"I just love hitting people and getting to the quarterback," Panfil said.

As for recruiting, Panfil has a big visit Saturday -- and has taken several others.

"I have taken two visits to Purdue and one to Illinois and I have another one scheduled this weekend," Panfil said. "I also hope to make it to Indiana."

Both Purdue and Illinois have impressed Panfil, and he looks to continue that streak with future visits.

"I really liked both of the places I have visited so far a whole lot," Panfil said. "I loved the campuses at both schools as well as the football programs."

He added, "I look forward to seeing the campus at Indiana and watchign them play because they have played well this year."
