Over the last month-or-so, the recruiting world has anticipated Racean Thomas pulling the trigger. His leader has been Alabama, and he has been to Tuscaloosa a handful of times since admitting that the Tide were on top.
The Oxford (Ala.) 2014 standout running back was back in town once more on Saturday, and he once again had a good time despite not committing.
After he returned to Oxford, Thomas wanted to set the record straight.
"People thought when I said it (Alabama's position), it would be in like a week," he said. "But in my head, it was like as soon as I felt like it was time."
So is there a timetable for the decision?
"Nah," Thomas reassured.
While the 6-foot, 197-pounder isn't quite ready to give his verbal to commitment to any school, it doesn't mean there has been too much movement at the top.
Thomas and his Oxford teammates are playing for pride at this point in the season after being eliminated from playoff contention. His recent trip to Tuscaloosa was a nice change-of-pace.
"It was pretty fun," Thomas admitted. "Just getting that home feeling (there)."
Going forward, the talented back plans on "grinding" it out on the field, and possibly visiting some additional programs unofficially.
