A Memorable Thursday for Mixon

The Oakley (Calif.) Freedom 2014 running back, Joe Mixon, picked up three Pac-12 offers on Thursday...

Oakley (Calif.) Freedom 2014 running back Joe Mixon got his second Pac-12 offer on Thursday.

And third.  And fourth.

It was a Thursday to remember for Mixon.

"I just got offered by Washington," said Mixon. "The coach who offered me was Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian), the head coach. I talked with Coach Sark and Coach (Tosh) Lupoi.  They said I was their number on guy for the class of 2014.  And they are fired up to have me."

Mixon's teammate, Darrell Daniels, has already committed to the Huskies.

"He didn't try to get me to commit, but he just said do what's best for me," said Mixon.

The Huskies followed Oregon State in offering Mixon.

But that just started out his Thursday.  A couple of hours after Washington offered, another Pac-12 school joined the mix in Colorado and then before the night ended, Cal had offered.

"Colorado offered me and then I called Coach (Ron) Gould from Cal and he offered me," said Mixon.

Mixon summed it up best he could.

"I know its been a crazy day," said Mixon.  "God blessed me with something special today."

And Mixon thinks more Pac-12 schools could be close.

"I think UCLA or Oregon could be the next school to offer," said Mixon. "Coach Angus (McClure) is recruiting me for UCLA and Oregon is talking with me a lot."

Mixon and Freedom start the playoffs on Saturday against Berkeley.

After the season, Mixon plans to head down to San Antonio for the U.S. Army Combine.
