USC Commit Named U.S. Army All-American

Highlights from Redlands (Calif.) East Valley defensive end Kylie Fitts' US Army All-American jersey presentation. Fitts is committed to USC...

Redlands (Calif.) East Valley defensive end Kylie Fitts accepted his invitation to play in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will air live on January 5th.

Fitts, a USC commit, started off his speech by making the audience laugh.

"I'm not going to lie, I'm a little nervous right now," he laughed.

Fitts was humbled by the honor, thanking God, family, friends (singling out best friend and teammate Blake Braun), and coaches for helping him along his football journey.

After suffering an injury to his wrist a few weeks ago and undergoing surgery and rehab, Fitts is likely out for the rest of his senior season.

"Some of you know that I broke my wrist and most likely out for the season. It's been very tough for me these past couple of weeks, knowing I'm not going to be able to play with my brothers. But with God of my family and friends and my hundred brothers...I thank you a lot for that [support]," he said.

Redlands East Valley head coach Kurt Bruich was proud to speak about his talented player.

"You know Kylie, you know how humble he is. That's why this is so ironic, to receive the attention he's receiving, you know he hates it. You can tell he has found strength to come up here and give an incredible speech. Kylie, I'm so proud of you," he said.

Fitts, who should be fully recovered in time for January's game, will graduate in December and join the Trojans' in early 2013.
