Jones Returns to Iowa

Minneapolis Washburn (Minn.) junior running back Jeffrey Jones has been to Iowa before, but returned on Saturday. One of the Hawkeyes' top targets, who already has an offer, what did he think of the trip?

Jeffrey Jones has had an Iowa offer for quite some time, and has taken the time to visit the Hawkeyes several times, including Saturday for their game against Purdue.

"It was a good experience," the 6'0, 190-lb running back said. "There were a lot of people there. It was close. It was a good game though."

Jones says the atmosphere and the gameday traditions at Iowa always stand out to him.

"It's great there. It's a great experience. There are lots of people outside tailgating and throwing the ball and the fans are very supportive."

Throughout the course of his recruitment, Jones has built up a good relationship with the Hawkeye coaches. Due to the narrow, hard fought loss on Saturday, there was not much contact.

"I did not talk to them much today. I got there in the morning and had breakfast. With the loss, it was tough to really sit down and talk."

Jones currently has other offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Michigan State, Minnesota and Wisconsin, but taking more visits is not a certainty.

"I'm starting basketball, so I'm going to be concentrating more on hoops, but after that I'll be looking at my choices and some other visits."
