Five star DT enjoys visit to TCU game

Dallas Kimball defensive tackle Justin Manning took another visit to TCU. The Frogs hosted three of the top nine defensive tackles for their game versus Kansas State.

Dallas Kimball defensive tackle Justin Manning attended the TCU and Kansas State football game at Amon G. Carter stadium Saturday.

The five star defensive tackle joined a host of other elite prospects that took in the TCU home game.

"We were really just chilling this weekend. It wasn't so much about talking about football. We were just there to see the game," said Manning who has a final five teams of TCU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, LSU, and USC.

"It was a good crowd there and everything," Manning said. "They had a lot of defensive backs there and some guys from the Dallas area that I knew."

While the atmosphere and playing style is important, relationship with coaches is still of paramount importance for Manning who is ranked as the seventh best defensive tackle in the 2013 class.

"I am really good with Coach Jennings," Manning said. "TCU is close to home. That is a big thing. I can get my momma and my family up to the games as well."

Manning was joined at TCU by one of his teammates as well as a friend from Dallas Lincoln.

"There wasn't really anything that I didn't like about the game. Defensively, they played good defense; the offense just couldn't drive the field," Manning said.

Manning also mentioned that he was impressed by TCU defensive ends Devonte Fields and Stansly Maponga.

"The defense held their ground just as long as they could. Players like Brandon Carter and Josh Boyce, they just need them to show up in the big games," Manning finished.

Joining Manning at the TCU game was ninth ranked defensive tackle Andrew Billings third ranked defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson (Texas commit), and five star wide receiver Robbie Rhodes (Baylor commit).
