"Iowa was awesome," the 6'3, 245-lb junior said. "I really loved the atmosphere. The facilities were nice and I enjoyed the presentation Coach Doyle the strength and conditioning coach gave."
Those elements of the program were impressive to Roe, but so was Kinnick Stadium.
"The game atmosphere was crazy and I really liked the fans. The student section was chanting come to Iowa to the recruits which was cool."
Currently without any offers, Roe's junior film is just beginning to make the rounds, and it is catching the eyes of coaches, including that of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
"I talked to Coach Morgan and Coach Johnson and they said they were very interested and that they liked my film. They said that their focus was on the current season and that they would focus on the 2014 class after the season and that we need to keep in touch."
As the process moves on, Roe will have a good person to talk to about it in teammate John Kenny, an Iowa commit, who will no doubt be emphasizing some of the finer points of what Iowa has to offer.
"Kenny and I were texting during the visit, talking about how cool it is there and just about the program and everything."
