WR Freddie Phillips Profile
The Pelion High School sophomore visited Tigertown earlier this season for the home opener against Ball State.
Phillips was back in town Saturday for the Maryland game.
"It was good. I really liked it. I definitely like it when they blow them out like that. It's always nice to see that," he said, during an interview with CUTigers.
While visiting Tigertown, he was able to catch up with Clemson's recruiting coordinator.
"I talked with coach Jeff Scott, the wide receivers coach. I just want to stay in touch with him. He wants me to send the highlights from this season, keep updating him with everything," Phillips said.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect plans to be back in Clemson on Saturday for the N.C. State game and again next weekend for the South Carolina game.
"I really like it. They always treat us nice. I like the offense. It's just a nice place to be," Phillips said.
N.C. State, South Carolina and Georgia Tech have also hosted Phillips for visits this fall.
As a sophomore, he caught 34 passes for 457 yards and two touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 31 tackles and six pass breakups. Phillips also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
