Tillman Cast Verbal with Cajuns

Holmes Community College CB Cedric Tillman (5'10,192) gave the Ragin' Cajuns his verbal this weekend while visiting Louisiana on an official visit this Saturday. The Cajun Redzone spoke to Tillman earlier this evening about his decision to commit to UL.

Cedric Tillman was an all-state running back coming out Grenada high in the 2010 class. Once he signed with Holmes Community College his future would be on the defensive side of the football at cornerback. Tillman finished the 2012 season with 28 tackles, 2 assists, 4 tackles for loss and 1 interception, while awaiting post season awards from the Mississippi Junior college ranks. Now Tillman will be taking his talents to Louisiana after graduation in the spring after visiting with teammate Taj Letman on an official visit this past Saturday.

"I really enjoyed the visit and the game," said Tillman. "Their fans were just crazy and the game came down to the very end and they pulled it out, it was very exciting. Coach Stringer asked Taj and I to come in on our official visits this weekend, and it really just solidified my gut feeling that UL is the place I want to play my college football."

Tillman also had interest from South Alabama, UAB, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota and Troy; What were the highlights of his visit at UL?

"I would say just hanging out in the locker room with the team and coaches, they really made us feel at home," Cedric stated. "I also enjoyed going around the stadium and just watching the fans and environment that they have at their games. I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to take any other visits this fall."

What is next for Cedric Tillman, will he participate in the Mississippi Junior College All-Star game?

"I probably won't participate in the all-star game if I'm elected," Tillman stated. "Now that I'm committed, I don't want to risk injury playing in the game. I have 14 hours to complete after this semester and I will graduate in the spring. After I graduate, I'm going to move down to Lafayette and begin summer workouts to get ready for next season."
