"We're in the state semis right now looking forward to having a big victory and getting our ticket to the state championship," Budwig said. "Individually, I feel like I improved a lot from last year, I have better footwork and have really tried keeping my pad level low. There are definitely things I can improve on but overall I'm happy with the way I played."
Budwig, 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, is one of the top offensive linemen in Broward County this year, and he talked about the latest with recruiting.
"Stetson, Georgia State, USF, and a lot of Division 2 schools are showing some interest in me. I have no favorites right now, just weighing all the options. I also just opened up the option to be a preferred walk on at schools like USF and Florida."
Budwig has two upcoming visits in mind.
"I am scheduled to visit Georgia State and USF in January," he said.
The standout lineman talked about what he'll be looking for when choosing a school.
"I'm looking for a great education, something I can fall back on in case football doesn't work out, a good environment, somewhere I can feel like I'm at home and with good people."
