Polk Still Likes Purdue

Even with the firing of Purdue Head Coach Danny Hope, Whetstone (OH) senior Dezwan Polk says he's still interested in the Boilermakers.

6-foot-4, 210 pound senior Dezwan Polk picked up an offer from Purdue in May. With the firing of Boilermaker head coach Danny Hope, the wide receiver says he'd still consider them.

"It doesn't take them out of consideration. I'd still love to play for them, but I guess now it's up to the new staff. I'll send them my highlights."

As for his final high school season, Polk says he's just been working on getting better.

"I've been focusing on my strength and conditioning. I'll be playing in an All-American game next month in Myrtle Beach."

The senior also holds offers from Toledo, Ball State, Bowling Green and Ohio and has been hearing from several new schools.

"I'm hearing from Buffalo, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois."

When it comes time to make his commitment, Polk hopes to stay close to home.

"I'll look at the distance from home and then the conference. I want to play Big Ten football."
