"As of right now, I am still committed," said Liufau. "I will not change anything this week. After my game this weekend I will turn my attention there."
Liufau is trying to stay focused on Saturday's state title matchup with Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline. The 6'4" 219lbs passer and his teammates advanced as far as the state semifinals two years ago, but hope to take home the trophy this season.
"It means a lot, most of us have been playing together for three years," said Liufau. "No Bellarmine team has ever been here before. We want to go out and get it."
Liufau was hearing from a long list of schools before committing to Colorado. After that commitment, most schools have backed off.
"Honestly, most stopped talking with me," said Liufau. "I was really up front that I was committed to Colorado, so I don't know what my options are."
Liufau has heard from the staff at Colorado and will wait to make any decisions until next week.
"I have talked to Coach Rip (Scherer)," said Liufau. "At first it was difficult; my phone was being called all the time. It's actually been good to practice and focus on the game. I have been watching a lot of film on Skyline."
