Dale watching Gators

Sophomore safety Hunter Dale holds four offers, including one from the Florida Gators. What's been happening with his recruitment?

John Curtis Christian sophomore Hunter Dale has offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Tulane and Arizona State.

"I haven't been to any college games but we're going to get tickets to watch Florida if they go to the Sugar Bowl," he said.

"It's nice having that Florida offer. They've been doing great. I've stayed in contact with Coach Derek Lewis, who is a great guy."

Dale, who leads national power John Curtis in interceptions (with four), also has kept in contact with Coach Greg Knox at Mississippi State.

Curtis (13-0, ranked second in the nation by this network) faces Evangel Christian in the state finals midday Saturday at the Superdome.

"Our season has gone great," Dale said. "No one on the team has had an attitude. The more love, the better.

"I know about the Curtis/Evangel rivalry and am very excited. Evangel likes to pass. I've been attacking the ball - and not waiting for it to get to the receiver - to get interceptions."

What's next for Dale?

"My dad is giving me a week off after state finals and then I'm going to train hard for the U.S. Army Junior Combine," he said.
