"It was an awesome game," said Edward Bermudez, father of Christian Bermudez. "We have a big game Friday in the state finals against Booker T. Washington.
"This is our chance to win back-to-back state championships. We'll have to slow down Booker T. They're averaging 50 points a game and Cocoa, which scored 13, is the only team to score on them in the playoffs."
"(Henry) scored a touchdown in the second half but it was called back due to penalty," dad said. "Christian, who was playing safety, then picked off a pass in the end zone and returned it 25 yards.
"The interception changed the whole game. Christian is averaging six tackles per game and has mostly played defense. He has three touchdowns and has made key blocks."
Florida is high on Bermudez' list. Which other programs are in the mix?
"He's getting a lot of interest from Georgia," dad said. "He's getting mail from Georgia and Mississippi State, and hearing from Florida State.
"He'll start hoops after football and we have a couple of camps planned. He'll camp at Georgia and Florida State, and Christian wants to see the U. During the summer, we're planning a West Coast trip to see USC."
