"I'm hearing Coach Eliot [is] going to Kentucky," Freddie Stevenson tweeted on Monday evening.
Thirty-six minutes later, he followed with another saying, "I'm still 100% Nole...I ain't got no worries."
Stevenson's tweets came in the wake of the University of Kentucky's plans to announce D.J. Eliot as its new Defensive Coordinator. Eliot will follow former FSU Defensive Coordinator Mark Stoops to Lexington.
Stevenson, a three-star middle linebacker, committed to Florida State University in July.
"I was kind of expecting it," Stevenson explained of Eliot's departure. "FSU is visiting me at my house on Thursday, so I'll get more details then."
Stevenson is a senior at Bartow High School in Central Florida. After a breakout fall season, expectations for Stevenson are high in Tallahassee.
"They're losing a lot at linebacker," Stevenson said. "So, they've made it clear that my [early enrollment] is big."
Stevenson plans to move to Tallahassee to start school in January.
