The Florida Gators are riding the emotional high of being 11-1 and heading to the Sugar Bowl as they are set to face Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals. The Gators are counting on the national exposure of being back in the national scene to translate for some of the top tier recruits around.
The Gators scheduled ten official visitors this weekend but one has been postponed leaving the coaching staff with nine for this weekend's events. Alvin Bailey, Ahmad Fulwood, Vernon Hargreaves, Nick Washington, Jordan Sherit, Joey Ivie, Caleb Brantley, Quinton Powell and Daniel McMillan will all be making official visits to Gainesville this weekend.
As important as it is to have the current commitments on campus it's the underclass recruits you should keep an eye on this weekend. Tarpon Springs (FL) will be well represented with its trio of 2014 athlete Artavis Scott, offensive linemen Mason Cole and 2015 superstar George Campbell. Cross City (CL) cornerback Duke Dawson will also be in town as well as standout signal caller Will Grier from Davidson (NC).
The Gators currently have 21 non binding verbal commitments for the class of 2013. As Will Muschamp inches closer to NSD he will have some tough decisions to make. There are plenty of players still on the board with cornerbacks Mackensie Alexander, Shaquille Wiggins and Jalen Ramsey. Running backs Alex Collins and Ryan Green should both find their way to Florida for visits moving forward. Trey Johnson, Kennard Swanson, James Clark, Laquon Treadwell, Elijah Daniel, Ebenezer Ogundeko, Jarran Reed, Trenton Brown and as always there will be some names purposely not talked about right now.
