DB backs off FIU pledge

Cornerback Troy McCollum said he's no longer committed to FIU.

Troy McCollum, a defensive back from North Miami (Fla.) High School, said that he has backed off his pledge to Florida International.

"I am now decommitted from FIU," McCollum said. "The coaching staff is not there anymore so chances are very slim now because everything is up in the air."

McCollum, 6-foot-0 and 165-pounds, is a three-star cornerback prospect.

"Indiana, TCU, Utah State, Hawaii, and some other schools are the programs I am currently looking at," McCollum said. "I still have not scheduled or set up any official visits."

All the schools mentioned above have offered McCollum but TCU. FIU fired head coach Mario Cristobal this past Wednesday.
