Brown closing in on decision

Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey defensive back Daquawn Brown will take his official visit to Washington this weekend and he could be close to making his decision.

Daquawn Brown is one of the state's top cover corners and had a very good senior season. He's a tough, physical corner with good feet and he can run.

Brown took his first official visit to Washington State and there's a good chance he'll make his final decision after returning home from seeing Washington this weekend.

"I'm basically down to Washington and Washington State," Brown said. "I had a great visit to Washington State and really liked it there. Pullman was a cool city, people don't give it enough credit but it's a cool place and I liked everything about my visit.

"I have Washington this weekend and I like the Huskies a lot. I'm close with Coach Heyward, the DB coach and I camped with UW in the summer so I'm already pretty familiar with the city and the campus and I like it a lot. I know some of the recruits already going there and it's a good school. When I get back from my trip, I'll sit down with my family and figure out where the best place for me is."

Brown had coaches from both schools in for home visits last week.

"Dennis Simmons came over from Washington State and coach Heyward came from Washington," Brown said. "Both visits went well, I like both coaches a lot. It's going to be a tough decision but I know I can't make a bad one. Nebraska is close to offering me as well and they're a great program. It's a little late in the process to be honest but I could still take a visit, I'm just going to play it by ear."
