Peterson Picks Up Offer Will Visit

Lovell Peterson has been one of the bigger names in Ohio for the 2013 recruiting class who has yet to take an official visit. That will soon change with a new offer and a coach who has been watching from afar.

Thursday afternoon Kentucky's new coaching staff entered Ohio to do more than window shop as the Wildcats handed out a few offers.

One of those offers went to Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne lineman Lovell Peterson as new Wildcats tight end coach Vince Marrow made a visit with Peterson's mother and coach.

"Coach Marrow stopped today at my school and my mother's shop," said Peterson. "He said he's wanted me at Nebraska since he seen my film last year but that Nebraska was slow playing me.

"We just talked about where he's been and he explained that I was one of the first kids he thought of when he went to Kentucky. So Kentucky offered me and I'll be taking my official visit tomorrow."

Standing 6-foot-3, 270-pounds, Peterson has been a starter at one of the top programs in Ohio since his freshman season and shows the skill set to play on either side of the ball. While his ranking came when he mostly played offense, Peterson has the tools to excel along the defensive line at the next level."

This will not be Peterson's first visit to Kentucky's campus as he camped with the Wildcats last summer.

"I went down there for a camp last year," said Peterson. "But that was just after coming back from being sick and while I was still trying to gain my weight back. I only saw a little bit of their facilities but this time I look forward to learning more."

Could Peterson soon add his name to Mark Stoops list of commitments?

"I don't know if I'll commit on my visit or not," said Peterson. "But if I like the place enough I could."
