Thomas commits to Northwestern

Three-star safety Jordan Thomas has committed to Northwestern, becoming the Wildcats' first member of the 2014 recruiting class.

Northwestern's 2014 recruiting efforts are off to a strong start. Three-star safety Jordan Thomas gave NU his verbal commitment during his weekend visit.

Thomas (6-foot, 170 pounds), a standout for Klein Collins (TX), was offered a scholarship upon arriving in Evanston on Friday, and committed shortly after watching practice on Saturday morning.

NU shifted much of its recruiting focus to the 2014 class when its 2013 class filled in August. Standout junior prospects Parrker Westphal, Clayton Thorson, and Nic Weishar were among visitors on campus Saturday.

PurpleWildcats will provide a full story on Northwestern's first 2014 commitment.
