Henry Finalizes Recruiting

Shortly after naming West Virginia as his favorite, Arizona Western linebacker D'Vante Henry made the Mountaineers his choice.

D'Vante Henry, who visited Oregon State and Utah, and has other schools under consideration, made WVU his choice on Wednesday. A pass rushing linebacker, Henry will be expected to help West Virginia improve its pressure on the quarterback, which suffered somewhat with the loss of Bruce Irvin a year ago.

A native of Oklahoma, Henry has great quickness. He played cornerback during the first part of his high school career before moving down to defensive end for his senior season. Oregon State saw great potential in him at that position, and signed him after his senior season, but he didn't meet initial eligibility requirements and instead enrolled at Arizona Western Community College.

Henry also had offers from Texas A&M and Texas Tech, and interest from a number of other schools. According to Brandon Huffman of FOXSportsNEXT, Henry will graduate in May and have three years in which to complete his final two seasons of eligibility.
