Four-star OLB taking his time

Chris Register, the No. 9 ranked outside linebacker in the class of 2014, already has plenty of college options. But he's in no hurry to chose one.

OLB Chris Register Profile

Clemson, North Carolina, Tennessee, Duke, Indiana, Ole Miss and N.C. State have offered.

"I'm just taking it as it comes," Register recently told CUTigers.

The four-star prospect has no favorites. He doesn't plan on narrowing his list down until his senior year Dudley High School [Greensboro, N.C.].

Register last visited Clemson over the summer.

"I like the way that the school itself is like its own little town…I noticed that when I was there," he said. "It's very homey, I guess you could say. It's quiet and relaxed, like where I live now. Lakes and all that, I like that kind of stuff."

Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell stopped by Dudley earlier this month. Florida was among the other schools to have assistants check in on Register.

Does Register have any visits lined up for the spring?

"In March, I might try to go see the Carolina, Duke basketball game."

As a junior, he had 110 tackles, seven sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles and three pass breakups.

In nine games as a sophomore, Register had 90 tackles, 10 sacks, five forced fumbles, four interceptions, and three pass break-ups.
