Around the State: Kentucky

FOX Sports Next visits St. Xavier, Covington Catholic and Christian County High schools in this edition of Around the State.

St. Xavier tight end Tyler Polston was a part of a strong running game for his Tigers. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound senior only caught five passes, but he had 99 yards and two scores on those catches.

"His recruiting has been a wide spectrum of opportunities from preferred walk-on offers from some D-1 schools like Louisville and Marshall to potential offers from Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky and Murray State," said Dan Polston, Tyler's father. "He hears from schools weekly and is still evaluating his options."

At Christian County, the Colonels went 9-3 this year, reaching the second round of the playoffs. Running back Korey Mosley was a force in the Colonel ground game. The senior rushed for 1640 yards and 22 touchdowns this year. He also caught 24 passes for 356 yards and another score.

"Recruiting is going pretty good. I've been talking to a lot of schools," said the 6-foot Mosley. "I been talking with Austin Peay, Murray State, Kentucky State and Tennessee-Martin," said Mosley. "Murray State and Tennessee-Martin probably will offer," Mosley said.

Covington Catholic quarterback Blake Bir set many school records this year on the way to a 9-4 record. The 6-foot-2 senior is now looking towards the next level.

"Blake has received offers from Butler, Dayton and several D-3 schools," said Anthony Bir, Blake's father. "He's waiting for admissions at Princeton and Brown. Both of those Ivy League schools are interested. Blake is planning to take official visits to these four schools in January."

FOX Sports Next will keep you updated on these three prospects.
