Elijah Sindelar had an outstanding year, throwing the ball for 2961 yards and 32 touchdowns. He also rushed for 447 yards and seven more scores.
"It was an overwhelming season that I'm very proud of," said Sindelar. "We had a good team who knew what it took to get to the state championship and had great work ethics," Sindelar continued. "I wish (the championship) could have turned out differently but it was a great season that I am honored to be a part of."
Sindelar has become one the most talked about young prospects in Kentucky and with good reason.
"I've got good pocket presence, a strong arm, quick release, great mobility, I can read the defense and I see the field," said Sindelar who says that he wants to work on his size, strength, footwork, drop-backs and being under center.
It's not just fans that are talking about Sindelar. He's got some college attention too at this early stage.
"I have heard from several schools. A few examples are Louisville, UCLA and Florida State. I was invited to Louisville's spring football game and I received a handwritten letter from UCLA. Also, I have been invited to camps from colleges like Alabama, Auburn and Ohio State," he said.
Speaking of the Buckeyes, Sindelar is a big fan of their coach and some other coaches.
"I'm most interested in Ohio State because they have a great coach (Urban Meyer) who's a strong Christian. I enjoyed watching him coach Tim Tebow and I would like to play for him. Also, Ohio State is my favorite college football team," he said. "Other schools I'm interested in are Georgia because of a great Christian coach (Mark Richt) and Louisville because it's close to home and I really like Louisville," he finished.
