A three-star defensive tackle prospect, Calloway narrowed his choices to three before committing to the Cardinals. In addition to U of L, Missouri and South Florida made his final cut.
Charlie Strong's recent decision to turn away attractive coaching offers and remain at Louisville pushed the Cardinals up his list.
"I really like the coaches," Calloway told Scout.com on Thursday. "That means [Strong's] making a big commitment. He knows the kind of team he has. That's what I need. I want coaches to be real."
Arizona, Florida, Miami, North Carolina and USC were among the others that extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-1, 300-pound lineman.
Calloway, a top 50 defensive tackle prospect nationally, becomes the 11th member of the 2013 recruiting class and the fifth to announce for the Cardinals since the team claimed a spot in a BCS bowl.
Cardinal Authority will have more from Calloway and his decision soon.
