Benjamin on Decision

FOX Sports NEXT is Scout.com was on the scene in Houston for the 2012 Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. After the week and the game concluded, McArthur linebacker Jeremy Benjamin talked about why he chose Marshall.

At the O-D Bowl in Houston, Hollywood (FL) McArthur linebacker Jeremy Benjamin made somewhat a funny at the announcement during the game…

"I'm taking my talents to West Virginia," Benjamin said.

It caught the sideline reporter off guard as well as those in attendance. He chuckled and made the reference to attending school in the state of West Virginia. For Benjamin, it was all about Marshall, which is where he plans to be a student-athlete.

So what was it that solid him on the program?

"Just pretty much the whole family atmosphere. My recruiter, coach (JaJuan) Seider brought me in and the coaching staff just showing love," Benjamin said. "And what they told me what that me coming there is more than just football if I choose Marshall. I wanted to make sure I land in the right hands."

Seems like the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Benjamin has found that. He stated that the Thundering Herd coaches will used him as a hybrid safety/linebacker type.
