Antoine Ready for TCU Visit

TCU is looking at Jermaine Antoine as an athlete. Will the Horned Frogs offer? He's about to find out when he visits Ft. Worth in the coming weeks.

Jermaine Antoine is ready to get to Ft. Worth. The 5'11" 195 pound athlete from Loreauville, LA is getting heavy interest from several programs but says he wants to wait and see what TCU has to say before he decides on other visits. If the Horned Frogs offer, consider it a done deal.

"I'm going to visit sometime here in January but I'm not sure what day yet" said Antoine. "They keep saying they'll let me know when I visit; I hope they do offer."

The versatile Antoine says TCU is his clear favorite at the moment, even with recent interest coming in from Nebraska and Arizona State.

"I've been hearing from North Texas, Arizona State, Nebraska and TCU the most" he said. "It really depends on what happens at TCU when I go there."

"If they offer, I'll probably commit right then" he said. "If they don't, I'll have to figure out who else I'm going to visit."

Antoine says TCU stands out to him for a number of reasons but the main thing to him is the education he would receive in Ft. Worth.

"Obviously a good education comes first and I would love to get it there" said the Louisiana native. "I'm looking for great coaches, a great football team and really TCU is just a great school so I hope I end up there."

In recent years, TCU has had tremendous success plucking talent out of the state of Louisiana. Kenny Cain, Chucky Hunter, James McFarland and Terrell Lathan are the most recent players to make a big impact on the Frogs. There's no question TCU will continue to recruit the talent rich state in a big way.

Antoine feels like the talent in Louisiana stacks up against the talent in Florida, Texas and anywhere else for that matter.

"I'm a player from Louisiana so of course I'm going to rep my state" said Antoine. "I think people talk about Florida and Texas because they're bigger states and more players come out of them so they underrate us."

"The players here in Louisiana, we bring it" he said. "I just think the guys from Texas and Florida get more hype but they aren't actually better than us; they just have more players coming out."

Antoine says he loves the fact that TCU recruits his home state and admits it would help to heave fellow Louisiana natives to hang out with.

"If I end up there it will be cool because I'll have some guys that I can talk about things back home with" he said. "Having guys there that are where you're from really helps; they'll take care of you because they know what you're going through with the homesickness and stuff so they can be there for comfort."

While Antoine isn't sure of the exact date yet for his visit, he says he's ready to get to Ft. Worth to take everything in. Stay logged on to to get the latest on Antoine's recruitment and to see if the Frogs come forward with an offer.
