Florida DB sets first visit

Craig Mackey is a talented cornerback prospect from Rickards High in Tallahassee and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Craig Mackey talked about the latest on the recruiting front.

"UCLA, Middle Tennessee, Jacksonville State, FAMU, TCU, and UMass are the schools talking to me on a regular basis," Mackey said. "I have a favorite right now but I'd rather not say and just wait until signing day."

Mackey, 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, is ready to take his first visit next weekend.

"Middle Tennessee will be my first visit coming up sometime this month," he said. "I'm excited to get up there and learn more about them. I don't have any others scheduled yet but I plan on scheduling them soon."

The talented cornerback prospect talked about what he'll be looking for when choosing a school.

"Academics will be my first reason I choose a school, another would be playing and how that program can better me as a person. And also, just how I fit in with the team and coaches."

Mackey says he has not yet had any in-home visits from any college head coaches but that could be changing in the coming weeks.
