Two More Officials for Childs?

FOX Sports NEXT has an update with Cy Ridge running back Rennie Childs from Houston, Texas, who is looking to get in a couple more visits with top programs from the Pac-12 and Big 12 Conferences.

With the Houston and Colorado State visits out of the way, Houston (TX) Cy Ridge running back Rennie Childs was looking to get at least one more visit it.

Turns out, he may be able to get in all five that are allotted to him. With new interest emerging for the Lone Star back, he will embrace all the newfound interest that is coming his way.

"I don't have any new offers, but the Oregon coaches are going to come by my house next week," Childs said. "When I get back from my official visit this weekend to Utah State, Oregon is supposed to come by then."

Word is that there is to be talk about an official visit not long after that face-to-face contact is made.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Childs said that is a visit is set up with the Pac-12 program he will be making that trip. Childs said that a number of these programs stayed away early on when Childs said that he was not interested in traveling far from home.

Now that has changed and these programs are coming. Of course, another program is starting to show interest as well. And with this school, distance will be a bit closer than heading to the West Coast.

"TCU is thinking about setting up a visit with me also. That will probably be my last visit," Childs said. "If that visit gets set up, I am for sure going."

Childs said that assistant coach Eddie Williamson is the coach recruiting him. Next up is Utah State for the January 12 weekend, and then it is likely that Childs will look to get both Oregon and TCU on the schedule before National Signing Day.

This past season, Childs ran for 1,945 yards and 21 touchdowns.
