Hammad's Recruitment Hits Warp Speed

Rami Hammad is adding offers on the regular, he now reports that he is at 46 and counting. The latest is from a perennial BCS title contender...

Scout.com Top 300 member Rami Hammad, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive guard from Irving (Texas) High's recruitment has hit warp speed.

Yesterday, he was elevated to 4-star status and honored as the No. 1 offensive guard prospect in the Midlands Region.

He is also fresh off an MVP type of performance in the Semper Fi Bowl and practices. Even though he is rated as a guard he had the chance to play right tackle in the post-season All-American contest.

"I earned that," Hammad explained. "The coach wanted to see who had the best feet and I went out and competed hard to get the opportunity to play there."

"I got to go up against and beat commits from schools like Notre Dame and LSU in the one-on-ones."

Hammad is elated to be rated more highly, but that has not put a damper on his competitive fire.

"To tell you the truth I want to be a five-star and I feel like I could be a five-star," Hammad noted. "I want to be the best at my position, number one. I am going to prove that I am."

Hammad, who has made a non-binding verbal commitment to sign with Baylor, is now starting to see even more schools line up with offers. "I have 46 total offers now," Hammad reported. "OU (Oklahoma) just offered today.

In the past few days schools like Washington, Kansas State, Michigan State, Texas Tech and Cincinnati have all stepped up with offers.

Texas is another school that has also really stepped up its pursuit of the 4-star DFW area prospect and "Alabama just started talking" to Hammad as well.

"TCU" is yet another that has turned up the heat.

He has yet to secure an official offer from those three programs, but it could only be a matter of time before one of them jumps in.

"It is a real blessing," Hammad exclaimed to recap the whirlwind that has been the last week for him!
