Childs Hears From Oklahoma State

Rennie Childs is a talented running back as he has been running up huge numbers - 1,945 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns - for Cypress Ridge High School in Houston. Early in the recruiting process he was hearing from Texas State, Texas-San Antonio and similar programs, but in the last week he's hearing from a different level of Division I schools including a call Thursday from Oklahoma State.

"The Oklahoma State running backs coach called me and told me they had a scholarship for me and that they wanted me to come and visit and check the school out," said Childs. "I've also heard from Oregon and TCU recently."

Childs said he is really having fun now and that it is flattering that he is hearing from some of the top football schools in the country. The 5-11, 185-pound speedy Childs visited Colorado State and Houston in December, and he will take a trip to Utah State this weekend.

"I have two visits left and I really want to go to Oregon and I want to see what TCU has to offer," he said. "I might take, I say I might take an unofficial visit to TCU because it is just up the road and them I could take an official visit to Oklahoma State. I would have to decide.

"I am undecided right now but I have to see these other schools before coming down to Feb. 6 (signing day)."

Childs said he is familiar and has followed all three of the BCS schools -- Oregon, TCU, and Oklahoma State.-- that have jumped in to begin recruiting him.
