Marino recaps visit to Arizona State

Mission Viejo (Calif.) defensive end Garrett Marino took an official visit to Arizona State over the weekend and the Sun Devils are definitely in a good place for the talented lineman.

Garrett Marino had a big senior season and established himself as one of the premier pass rushers in the state. He basically came out of nowhere after putting on about 40 pounds in the off-season and his speed off the edge is about as good as you'll see at the high school level.

Arizona State has been the dream school for Marino for some time and the athlete said he loved his visit.

"I've always wanted to go to ASU," Marino said. "I camped with them in the summer and just fell in love with the place. When ASU offered me late in the year, I was so pumped and I took my visit this weekend and it was unbelievable. My mom came with me and she loved it as much as I did.

"She really liked how much they focused on academics and I liked the facilities and the coaches. Coach Graham is an incredible guy and very inspiring. I already feel so comfortable with him and I've only known him for two days. They have a hybrid defense and like to move guys around so I think I would fit in really well there."

Did Marino give any thought to committing while on the trip?

"Yeh, I actually talked to them about committing," Marino said. "Coach Graham said he wanted me to go back home and make my decision with my family. I have a lot to do later tonight but I plan to definitely do that later this week. I'm pretty sold on ASU, I don't have any questions at all there so hopefully everything works out in the end."
