"It was probably one of the best weekends I've ever had," said Queiro. "I had a great host and a great time. Everything was just perfect."
The brother of Northwestern class of 2013 commitment Kyle Queiro, Cameron is also a highly-touted prospect. It was his first Evanston experience, as he visited with the older brother.
Queiro was hosted on campus by freshman safety Traveon Henry, who provided a great tour filled with high praise of the university.
"He just told me about how he loves it," Queiro said of Henry. "He was a cool and mellow guy. There are just a lot of people like me there. That's the great thing about it. They have the same goals and everything as I do."
The highlight of the weekend visit for Queiro was sitting down with Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald, who told him everything he needed to know about Northwestern. Queiro was attentive to the tone of Fitzgerald.
"It's great, he's an upfront guy—probably the most upfront guy I've ever met," Queiro said of Fitzgerald. "The players told me, everything he says is going to be true—no lies, no nothing. I've seen that."
As Queiro was traveling home to Oradell, NJ, he spoke with his brother about Northwestern. Kyle made an honest point.
"He said, ‘this is definitely the place for you,' since he knows my personality," recalled Cameron.
The visit at Northwestern was an ‘eye-opening experience,' as Queiro termed it.
"It's at the top, now," he said of Northwestern.
