In-state lineman likes Arizona

Troy Kowalski is one of the better junior linemen in the state. Read on for his thoughts on Arizona, his recruitment as a whole, and more.

Coach Rodriguez has stated many times that his first recruiting priority involves keeping the best in-state kids home.

He received great news when Cameron Denson announced his commitment to UA, but Rodriguez is far from finished with the junior class.

The 2014 class is maybe the most talented in Arizona high school football history and Mountain Ridge offensive tackle Troy Kowalski is one of the more prominent recruits.

Kowalski visited the University of Arizona and plans to check out another game, if possible.

"Right now, I'm most interested in the University of Arizona, Utah and Missouri," Kowalski said. "I got to take an unofficial visit to Arizona to watch them.

"I wasn't able to talk with Coach Rodriguez because he was getting ready for the game, but I was able to talk with Mr. Dudek and some other players, so that was fun. The visit was fun and I wouldn't mind getting back there at some point, when my schedule allows."

In the meantime, Kowalski is hard at work in the weight room.

"I'm going all out, just trying to get bigger," Kowalski said. "I'm hitting the weights really hard and my goal is to put on as much muscle as possible while continuing to improve my footwork."

Although Arizona has made a positive impression on Kowalski, he doesn't plan on making a decision before looking further into certain schools.

"I plan on taking all five visits," Kowalski said. "I don't know when I will decide, but the main thing is I don't want to leave any stone unturned.

"I want to be completely sold on whatever school I decide to attend next year."
