Calloway "pretty solid" with his commitment

Derrick Calloway of Bradenton, Fla., spoke with Cardinal Authority following his official visit with the Cardinal program over the weekend.

Derrick Calloway committed to Louisville during the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in late December and the 3-star defensive lineman made his official visit with the Cardinals program over the weekend.

"It was pretty good, I had a good time," he said.

Calloway (6'1, 300) said that he enjoyed his time getting to know members of the team, seeing the campus, visiting the city and taking in Saturday's game at the KFC Yum! Center.

"I liked the city, it felt like a small town, which is cool," said Calloway. "The game was a lot of fun."

Calloway, who has also visited South Florida and has an official visit trip to Arkansas next week, explained that the visit helped strengthen his pledge to the Cardinals.

"I feel pretty good about," he said of his decision. "I had a good time there and I liked it. I'm pretty solid right now."
