"It was my first official visit, I didn't know what to expect," said Liufau. "I had been there twice on unofficial visits and we did some of the same stuff. Friday was the academic tour; the next day was more football oriented stuff. We had position meetings; I met coach Mac (Mike MacIntyre) for the first time. He is a really great guy; I am looking forward to working with him and rest of staff for the next four years. They seem incredible after being there for the weekend."
Liufau had some concerns amid the coaching change, but those have been laid to rest.
"There definitely is some worry when there is a coaching change, it didn't happen at best of times," said Liufau. "We wanted to wait and see and build connection with the new staff. Coach Mac and Lindgren went off to a fast start. I am not as worried after meeting them, I am looking forward to being there."
"The connection has been there. Coach Mac (Mike MacIntyre) is coming on Thursday to visit again," said Liufau. "I have talked with most of the offensive coaches, this weekend I talked to the whole staff."
So what was the highlight of the weekend?
"I don't really know," said Liufau. "After talking with them, kind of just looking to the future. School is coming to a close and I just can't wait to get out there."
Liufau is also a standout on the hardwood and is in the midst of his senior season.
"I am playing again, this year I took a break after football and didn't play in the first six basketball games," said Liufau. "We started slow 1-6, but we are first in our league, I think we are 7-6 now. It's hard transferring from one sport to another, but I want to make most of my last basketball season. After this I will focus fully on football."
