Sitting in the Boulder airport, Tedric Thompson couldn't help but be ecstatic when recapping his official visit to Colorado.

With the trip and all its activities fresh in his mind, the six-foot-one 205-pound safety said he loved everything about the Buffs.

"It was great," Thompson said. "I liked the campus, the players, the new coaching staff, everything like that. You can tell they are ready to change the program around."

Thompson was first picked up on Friday by safeties coach Charles Clark and then hosted by Colorado defensive back Jeffery Hall. While Hall made a good impression on Thompson, another defensive back also appealed to him.

"Yuri Wright," he said. "He was highly recruited out of high school and we talked about playing time. He told me if I put in the work, I'm going to get playing time. I think competition makes every one better so I would look forward to it."

For Thompson, the recruiting process has been slow but very eventful. With two unofficial visits to Minnesota, one official to Fresno State, in home visits from both the Bulldogs and Gophers, and now an official to Colorado all under his belt, Thompson says he has already begun to sense his leaders.

"I have to go home and talk to my mom but to tell you the truth it's really Fresno State and Colorado," he said. "I just have to break down the pros and cons because each one has something I really like."

While the people around him, including an older brother who plays at Minnesota, are helping him to make a decision, Thompson emphasizes the decision is ultimately up to him.

"My brother (Cedric) called me and asked about the visit and he said no matter what nobody can make the decision but me," he said. "I'm going to listen to my family but even my mom said I have to make the decision on my own."
