The three-star prospect told defensive backs coach Tony White and head coach Rocky Long he wanted to be an Aztec.
"I told Coach White and then I told Coach Long I was committed to San Diego State. I knew on Friday but I waited until Saturday," said Montgomery. "I felt at home."
Montgomery was hosted by Kendrick Mathis, a freshman defensive back, and spending time with him and the other Aztecs was what he enjoyed.
"I really enjoyed hanging out with the players," said Montgomery. "They are all really cool. We were able to see the facilities and the campus."
Montgomery is hopeful he'll play early.
"Their starting corners just graduated but they have a lot of guys there, and I like competition and I have no problem competing and getting on the field early," said Montgomery.
Montgomery said he may visit Nevada next weekend, but he's solid to the Aztecs.
"Yeah, I'm kind of relieved to have this process done and taking out the stress levels," said Montgomery. "It's a real blessing."
