In-State Offensive Lineman Talks Auburn Offer

Offensive lineman Wilson Bell from Blount talks about getting an offer from the Auburn Tigers and what it means for his recruiting.

Prichard, Ala.—One of the top offensive linemen in Alabama for the 2013 class, Blount standout Wilson Bell has seen his recruiting take off in the past few weeks since his performance at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. A commitment to Central Florida, he has added offers from Florida State and Ole Miss recently, and on Monday he got one of the offers he's been waiting on as the Auburn Tigers jumped on board.

Talking with Coach Gus Malzahn on the phone, the 6-3, 290 Bell said he got the good news he's been waiting for and now it's decision time for him.

"It's something I've been waiting on for a while," Bell said. "I'm kind of excited but I have other options now. It's time to make a real big decision.

"He just called and said he actually had a chance to sit down and look at the film when I was at camp, " Bell added. "He said that he had to get the coaching staff situated and that pulled out an offer for me."

A frequent visitor to campus and also for summer camps on the Plains, Bell has been around the Auburn program plenty of times to know what to expect out of the Tigers.

"I like the atmosphere and the coaching staff that was there. I like the people around there and how they are driven and really care about Auburn. I like how they are willing to help the players. It's just everything about Auburn I have loved."

With one of his favorite schools now on board it might seem like this one is over, but Bell said that's not the case at all. Planning to visit Ole Miss next weekend and also looking at Cincinnati and Texas Tech, he said he's still not sure about what his visit plans are for this coming weekend after visiting Florida State last week.

"I should know by Thursday," Bell said. "I want to visit, but I have other people in mind I want to check out as well. I'll have to see what I want to do. I'm also looking at Cincinnati and Texas Tech."
