The East's Top Uncommitted Players

FOXSportsNEXT takes a look at the top uncommitted players in the East Region, ranging from five-star prospect Derrick Green to a bundle of other prospects.

A look at the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the East Region:

Derrick Green, RB, Hermitage High, Richmond, Va.
Skinny: The nation's No. 1 running back will announce his decision Saturday at 4 p.m., and Auburn, Michigan and Tennessee are in contention. Michigan has long been the team to beat, but this is recruiting, so anything is possible.

Michael Parker, S, Kettle Run High, Nokesville, Va.
Skinny:Miami and Arizona State are in the running, but at this time Arizona State is the team to beat. He is slated to visit Arizona State this weekend.

Kwamane Bowens, WR, Salem High, Virginia Beach, Va.
Skinny: Bowens set an official visit to Old Dominion for this weekend and Cincinnati could be the following the week. He is also hearing from Texas A&M, East Carolina and Virginia Tech. He is planning a signing day announcement.

Demetri McGill, DT, Ocean Lakes, Virginia Beach, Va.
The former Maryland commit visited East Carolina and is slated to visit North Carolina this weekend. He will also visit Temple on Feb. 1 and will make a decision after that.

Augustus Edwards, RB, Tottenville High, Staten Island, N.Y.
Skinny: Edwards is a "soft" commit to Syracuse who visited Florida State over the weekend and has trips to Rutgers (Jan. 25) and Miami (Feb. 1) on his schedule. Edwards was a favorite to land at Syracuse before the coaching staff change, but things are now in flux. He had a great trip to Florida State, and it could come down to playing near home or wanting to get away.

Laray Smith, RB, Xaverian High, Brooklyn, New York
Skinny: Until the coaching staff changed, Smith seemed set on Syracuse. However, he is now open and looking at West Virginia, Connecticut and the Orange. If Smith feels comfortable with the new Orange staff, it makes the most sense for him to land there.

Chauncey Scissum, CB, Rush-Henrietta High, Henrietta, N.Y.
Skinny: Scissum decommitted from Old Dominion and immediately made an official visit to Syracuse over the weekend. Scissum likely will wind up with the Orange providing Syracuse wants him. He recently received an offer, and playing at home makes sense.

Tashawn Bower, DE, Immaculata High, Somerville, N.J.
Skinny:Bower is a "soft" commit to Auburn, and spent the last two weekends visiting Florida State and Florida. He is set to visit LSU this weekend and will make an unofficial visit to Auburn the following week to meet the new staff. Rutgers continues to recruit Bower, but at this point remaining with the Tigers looks to be realistic.

Jahmere Irvin-Sills, CB, Eastern Christian Academy, Elkton, Md.
Skinny: The one-time Auburn commit visited Mississippi State a few weeks ago and is contemplating a visit to either Clemson or Tennessee. He could end his recruitment soon if he decides on the Bulldogs, but Mississippi State had a pair of cornerbacks visit last week that could cloud the situation.

Yannick Ngakoue, LB, Edison Friendship High, Washington, D.C.
Skinny: Ngakoue was committed to Maryland but made visits to Florida State and Maryland after opening the process. He visited Florida State and South Carolina the last two weekends and has a final three of the aforementioned schools. He wants to decide on signing day and will hear plenty from Maryland commit and teammate Derwin Gray.

Brian Lemelle, WR, Bishop McDevitt High, Harrisburg, Pa.
Skinny: Lemelle began an official visit to Connecticut on Monday and is slated to visit Iowa on Friday. He also is tentatively set to visit Temple on Feb. 1 before making a decision. Whichever school shows Lemelle the most love could get his commitment.
