Bierria will visit two schools next week

A player who has recently popped up on Washington's radar as the 2013 recruiting cycle nears an end is Narbonne (Harbor City, Ca.) LB Keishawn Bierria. The prospect has seen things heat up with the Huskies recently and he will visit Montlake, as well as another Pac 12 city, next week...

"I'm visiting Oregon, probably on Wednesday and Thursday next week and then I'll probably just fly right from (Portland) up to Seattle on Friday to visit Washington," Bierria told Dawgman.com. "I don't have offers from either of them, but both have basically said if I visit they will offer."

Up until this point, Oregon State had been the leader for Bierria and he said that remains the status right now.

"I really like the program there and I have a great relationship with the coaches," Bierria said. "Washington has really started to come on for me and I have a good relationship with coach (Peter) Sirmon and coach (Johnny) Nansen.

"All of the schools that are recruiting me like me at linebacker. Washington likes me there and said they think I could be a good WIL (weakside linebacker) for their system.

"Even though Oregon State is my favorite right now, I still feel like I need to see the other schools that are after me. I've been talking a lot with Troy (Williams) and Sean Parker about the school and they said I just need to see it and what it's all about so that's why I decided to get up there.

"They both love it there and they said if I come up there, that I will see why it's such a great school and a great program."

As a senior this past season, while helping to lead his team on a deep run in the CIF playoffs, Bierria totaled 87 tackles, two sacks and two fumble recoveries from his linebacker postion and he also had a solid week at the Semper Fi bowl that was held the first week of January.

Bierria noted that after he returns from his visit to Washington, he will sit down with his family and make the decision that is right for him.

"I will probably go up to Signing Day," Bierria said. "It's an important decision and I need to be sure. I will sit down with my family and weigh it all out, so it will probably need to go to Signing Day."
