Bellamy's a free man

It is official. Davin Bellamy is no longer committed to Florida State.

Davin Bellamy and Florida State have parted ways and the four-star defensive end is now uncommitted.

"I had to go ahead and do it," Bellamy said of his decision to de-commit from FSU. "FSU now is not the FSU I committed to. The coaches are different and it just didn't feel right."

The 6-foot-5, 225 pound star out of Chamblee, Ga. has been committed to FSU since August, but has recently taken official visits to Georgia and Tennessee.

He returned from Athens Sunday and told Scout that Georgia and Tennessee were his leaders and it could come down to those two.

"I really like both schools a lot. I met with Georgia on Monday, Tennessee on Tuesday, and I like them both.

"They are very similar to me. Tennessee has a new coaching staff, they want me to come in and be the man for them. Georgia has had a great defense recently, but they are in a rebuilding year defensively, so I could compete for playing time immediately too."

A third school entered the mix on Tuesday morning and they will have Bellamy on their campus this weekend.

"I was offered by Oregon on Tuesday morning and I will visit them officially this weekend," he said. "People may think Oregon doesn't have a chance, but they really do. They will have something different to offer me up there, so I want to see it. The coaches did come in late, but I am interested in them."

After he returns from Eugene on Sunday evening, Bellamy will sit down and try to make his mind up.

"I will probably announce my final decision on signing day, but I could wait a day or two after if I am not ready. I just have a lot of thinking to do before I sign with someone."
