Phoenix (Ariz.) Thunderbird RB Kani Benoit has had a crazy experience with his recruitment.
First, he committed to Colorado State at halftime of the Canyon Coast All Star game only to find out that the Rams no longer had a spot for him because another back committed the previous day.
Benoit then committed to UNLV and is still committed to the Rebels but a new school has jumped into the mix and Benoit (6-0 200) has scheduled an official visit.
Benoit says, "I just booked a plane ticket with Oregon and will take a visit there this weekend."
Benoit says the Oregon staff has been upfront, stating there is no scholarship offer available currently but that one could open up, thus the reasoning for bringing him on a visit.
Other schools that offered were Utah State, Toledo, Idaho, New Mexico State, North Dakota, North Dakota State and South Dakota State.
He helped Thunderbird to an 8-4 record after rushing for 2,260 yards and 36 scores.
