News and Notes on some of the top prospects in the region.

  • Four-star Woodbridge (Va.) Hylton linebacker E.J. Levenberry is still committed to Florida State, but Tennessee is making a late push. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Levenberry and his father drove to Knoxville today for an official visit.

  • Notre Dame offered 2014 four-star Havelock (N.C.) running back Derrell Scott on Thursday morning. Later in the day, coaches from East Carolina stopped by to visit Scott. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound playmaker has 12 scholarship offers.

  • 2014 four-star Burke (Va.) Lake Braddock quarterback Caleb Henderson has a top five – Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Oregon – in no particular order.

  • 2014 Graham (N.C.) Southern Alamance star Johnathan Lloyd was offered by Indiana on Wednesday. He has 12 offers.

  • Numerous college coaches have visited 2014 Swansboro (N.C.) wide receiver DeAndre Thompkins over the past few weeks. Coaches from Notre Dame were at his school today and North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren will be by to see Thompkins tomorrow morning. He has close to double-digit offers.

  • Coaches from Northwestern stopped by to see 2014 Raleigh (N.C.) Leesville Road wide receiver Braxton Berrios on Thursday. He is closing in on double-digit offers.

  • Florida has offered two of the top sophomores in South Carolina in the past 24 hours. The Gators offered Orangeburg-Wilkinson defensive end Albert Huggins yesterday and Bluffton defensive end Shameik Blackshear today. Both will likely be big-time prospects in the 2015 class.
