Jacobs flips to Terps

Suitland (MD) Taivon Jacobs has a change of heart on National Signing Day.

For the majority of the year, Taivon Jacobs' recruitment has been relatively quiet. He verbally committed to Ohio State in July and stayed out of the spotlight until the night before National Signing when he informed the press he will decide between Maryland and Ohio State.

"I don't know where I will go," he told FOX Sports Next. "Yes, Maryland is in the mix."

Just weeks ago, he had shut-down the Maryland rumors, but the Terps never backed off. What appeared to be a done deal, clearly was not.

Though Jacobs never took an official visit to College Park, deep down the Terps could offer what Ohio State could not. First, Jacobs' older brother, Levern, is a wide receiver for the Terps. Second and "most important," Jacobs is a father, and staying close to his family became the ultimate factor in his final decision.

"I love Ohio State, and thank them for all the love they have given me, but this is the best decision for me and my family at this time in my life," said Jacobs. Stay tuned for more.
