Tunsil picks Ole Miss

The nation's No. 1 offensive tackle committed to Ole Miss this morning.

Lake City (FL) Columbia star Laremy Tunsil was down to Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss.

On Wednesday morning, Tunsil made the call.

"I will be attending the University of Mississippi," said Tunsil on ESPNU.

Tunsil's relationship with his recruiting coach played a pivotal role in his decision.

"I've said since day one that it's all about relationships, and that's what me and (Ole Miss assistant coach) Chris Kiffin had," he said. "The most important part was being around someone 24/7 because you are going to need someone to talk to in college."

Tunsil's recent visit to Oxford helped him make his choice.

"I didn't expect much to be honest with you, but when I went down there, I saw a lot of things," Tunsil said.

The five-star prospect cited the Rebels' campus, fans, and atmosphere as the things that impressed him the most.

The strong recruiting class that Ole Miss is assembling also appealed to Tunsil.

"It's a nice recruiting class their putting together, so I thought I thought I would be a part of it," Tunsil said.

Tunsil has high goals next fall.

"My goal is to be a freshman All-American, but I've got to go in there and work," he said.

Tunsil is the No. 7 prospect in the 2013 class.
