Houston offers Louisiana DB

Mattrell McGraw got his fourth offer very early this morning from Houston...

The recruiting game is often one of momentum, and John Curtis Christian junior defensive back Mattrell McGraw has the tide rolling in his favor.

Over the past three weeks Hawaii, Baylor, Arizona and Houston have extended scholarship offers to McGraw, who played a big part in Curtis winning both state and national championships in 2012.

"Houston offered over Facebook," McGraw said. "Coach (Brandon) Middleton and I were exchanging messages. We didn't talk on the phone because it was around midnight to 12:30 A.M.

"He likes my aggressiveness and my physicality. He let me know he's going to be straight-up with me, and wants me to come to their junior day."

Curtis may have had the nation's top secondary in 2012 and while the Patriots lose a couple of star DBs to graduation, there's plenty of talent coming back with McGraw, Terrence Alexander, Hunter Dale and Prine Lewis.

McGraw is a versatile defender who can stop the run and defend the pass with equal skill.
