Jones Holds High Interest In Spartans

As the recruiting process continues to heat up for Jamarco Jones, Michigan State remains a program the offensive lineman still has solid interest in. We caught up with Jones for the latest.

With more scholarship offers than he can remember, Jamarco Jones knows the next few months are a time to gather information before making his college decision. The Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle product continues to have high interest in Michigan State.

"I have a lot of interest in Michigan State," said Jones. "I'm looking to attend their spring game and maybe some of their spring practices."

This past weekend Jones saw his primary recruiter leave the Spartans program, but he's not too worried.

"I've not spoken with Coach (Dan) Roushar since it was announced he was leaving," said Jones. "But I've also been in contact with offensive line coach Mark Staten. So that is not really going to be a problem. Coach Staten and I talk a little bit and he sends me letters and things like that."

What has kept Jones interested in the Spartans?

"Michigan State has been a consistent program over the years," explained Jones. "I like their coaching staff and the whole environment there. They also have great academics and a good football program."
